I don’t often talk about defensive specialists because there are so many. They look the same, they play the same, and they have the same bruises on their legs. Courtney’s a little different. As the libero at Summit, she’s responsible for passing half the court in serve receive (which she does at an above-average level) and left-back defense (which she covers well). At current, she’s a little “armsy” when the ball is outside of her body, causing the ball to pull a little. But for now, Summit’s success this spring has been chiefly because of their libero, as Courtney’s first contact is where it’s at.
