Behind the offensive play of Zayna Meyer (2021, 6’1, OH, Sports Performance VBC, Brigham Young) and the defensive passing of Darby Harris (2022, 5-8, S/L, Sports Performance VBC) WWS returned from a second set 2-7 deficit to bring it within one at 14-15. Two points later, they grabbed the lead and brought it to 20-16 before the DGS timeout. Wheaton Warrenville finished the set and match scoring the next 5 of 7 points. Lizzie Chiesa (2021, 5’8, OH) had both key kills and defensive gems in the team’s win.
DGS had standout performances by setter Addison Karmik (2021, 5’9, S) and Lily Ross. Karmik had 16 assists, 2 blocks, 5 digs and Ross added 5 kills, 4 blocks in the loss.
