The regular season is rapidly winding down and several teams are making final tuneups for postseason play. Eastview High School plays host to the Lightning Invite this Friday and Saturday. In the preview spotlight are liberos and setters ready to dig and dish their teams towards a weekend title.

SETTERS

[player_tooltip player_id="71950" first="Brooke" last="Weichbrodt"] - Concordia Academy | 2021
Weichbrodt is 5’10, left-handed, and very effective at using those tools to distribute and terminate the ball when the option is available. She has good quickness and consistent hand position that helps her deliver with great deception. Add this to her ability to set a quicker in-system tempo from pin to pin and her offense is tough to defend.

[player_tooltip player_id="31566" first="Ava" last="Cinnamo"] - Rosemount | 2022
Cinnamo is so fun to watch. Just a sophomore, she plays with so much savvy in running the offense for the Irish. She can deliver to all locations with great consistency and has a variety of shots to score points herself when in the front row. She is quick and jumps well, which helps her in every facet of the game whether pursuing the ball to deliver or getting up with fast hands over the net to put pressure on the attacker.

[player_tooltip player_id="72054" first="Halle" last="Bemmels"] - LeSueur-Henderson | 2021
At 5’8, Bemmels presence is much bigger given her quickness and tenacity to take as many balls as she can with her hands. She can elevate and deliver in the air as well as get underneath the ball on the move and deliver with great control and location. She has great court awareness and is effective setting the ball against the flow and when out of system.

LIBEROS

Marissa Agrimson - Southwest Christian | 2020
A key factor for the Stars who are currently ranked #6 in class AA. Provides great leadership to go along with good defensive pursuit of the ball and solid pressure from the service line. A recent 26 dig performance in a 3-0 win over Norwood Young America is a good indication of what she does for her team on the defensive side.

[player_tooltip player_id="71657" first="McKenna" last="Vacek"] - New Prague | 2020
Feisty and competitive, Vacek reads and patrols the floor well. She maintains great engagement throughout the point, can make big plays, and supports her teammates well with good communication, coverage, and ability to deliver a second ball to her pin attackers with great location. New Prague is a scary team when all their pieces are working in concert and Vacek is their ball control leader.

Gabi Scott - Rosemount | 2020
Leads the Irish in total digs while providing great leadership for a young but athletic squad. She defends with good patience upon contact from the attacker, which allows her to make the necessary adjustments in the moment. Whether digging overhead or low to the floor, Scott creates great angles to deliver the ball high and off the net for her setter.
