Moving right along with our All-Star Sectional preview, we touch on the most talented 2A sectional at Western Boone High School. The Stars have been volleyball powers for some time now, but have hopped around between 2A and 3A in recent seasons. It was also nice to see the volleyball "blind draw gods" get it right, keeping the top two teams in this sectional on opposite sides of the bracket. Here are ten players from all six teams that will be the main parts of their respective teams' success.

Delphi (3-24) v North Montgomery (9-16), October 17 @ 6p

Although the Oracles have had a rough season, the future looks bright with the amount of youth seeing major time on the court. This statement is especially true with Delphi's libero, Baylee Caylor. Her ability to have a great first contact and keep plays alive for her squad will be the key in how long this match will last. North Mont already has a straight-sets win over Delphi back in September, but everyone knows that the postseason brings out a completely different feeling in teams. Kaydence Young will be the main attacker for the Chargin' Chargers on Thursday night, and should also be the senior leadership her team needs if they wish to extend their season.

Winner @ 2A #5 Western Boone (20-5), October 19 @ 11a

The reward either Delphi or North Mont get on Saturday morning is a date with the hosts and their high-octane offense. [player_tooltip player_id='154814' first='Raegan' last='Durbin'] (Middle Tennessee State commit) is the clear leader on the attack, and does a little of everything for the Stars. Recent transfer Sadie Poeck (Wake Forest commit) is an exceptional pin attacker that should keep defenses from committing on Miss Durbin. Keeping this offense humming on all cylinders will be up to [player_tooltip player_id='157436' first='Janie' last='Ransom'], whose set location and tempo will be much needed to extend their season past the sectional.

Seeger (8-18) v Rensselaer Central (17-11), October 17 @ approx. 8p

Although these two teams have not met each other in the regular season, a battle of primary offensive attackers will dictate this match, and those two attackers will immediately know what they're in for. The Patriots will send [player_tooltip player_id='260996' first='Chase' last='Lemming'] (Butler commit) into the fray, putting balls away from just about everywhere. To get past the Bombers, however, Chase will need a little help from the supporting cast. The Bombers have their own....bomber....on offense in the form of Kamri Rowland. Even though she's more of a basketball kid, her athleticism and leadership have been much needed this season, and will need to be even moreso if they want to advance to the sectional semifinal against.....

Winner v 2A #2 Benton Central (26-4), October 19 @ approx. 1p

.....the Bison. On a mission for a few seasons now, the ladies of Benton Central typify their area's style of play; solid ball control, athleticism, high volleyball IQ and a roster full of well-rounded players. Although [player_tooltip player_id='260994' first='Calista' last='Foster'] (Western Kentucky commit) is easy to pick out on the court without a program, there are so many that do a little of everything that is necessary for this engine to go. Sophomore McKenna Yadon can attack from either pin at any time, in any situation and either in-system or out-of-system. [player_tooltip player_id='260992' first='Bella' last='Widmer'] is another Boiler Juniors product that is the queen of the first contact and knows what it takes to win NATIONAL championships, let alone sectionals, as a libero.
