About Sophie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a player who excels at reading the ball and positioning themselves for digs and serve-receives. My gameplay style focuses on quick reactions and high defensive reliability, keeping rallies alive, and putting my teammates in-system with strong ball control.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

As a positive and hustle libero, my mentality is all about resilience, focus, and relentless effort. I bring a high-energy, never-give-up attitude to the court, always ready to dive for every ball and keep the rally alive. My positive mindset keeps me motivated, even when the game is tough, and I inspire my teammates with my hustle.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am starting a club next year, since my school will only allow Juniors and above to start clubs. This club supports Miracle League, an organization that helps people with mental and physical disabilities play baseball. This club allows students to receive hours for the Bright Futures Scholarship in Florida, while doing a good deed for their community,

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

As a positive and hustle-driven libero, I’ve developed key skills such as leadership, teamwork, resilience, discipline, problem-solving, and community engagement. These qualities enhance my on-court performance and have prepared me for success in academic, professional, and sports environments.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I struggled through the loss of two grandparents during the era of Covid-19. I also struggled through my parents divorce at the age of 10 years old, but I have fearlessly overcome them.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a strong business program in the Southeast that offers a well-rounded education, likely with a focus on leadership, entrepreneurship, finance, or general business management. I am looking for a competitive collegiate volleyball program that aligns with my mentality as a positive and hustle-driven libero.
