Common Opponents: Cape Central, Notre Dame, Saxony, Scott City

Portageville beat Central but lost to Notre Dame, Saxony, and Scott City. St. Vincent tied Central, beat Scott City, and lost to Notre Dame and Saxony.

Prediction: Once I learned St. Vincent moved up a class and added the Rubel sisters from Notre Dame, I saw the Indians as one of my top teams. They've been up and down all season, and the players have shifted around until they found the right mix. Portageville has had its players in place all season, and success has followed. The difference between the two teams is the level of competition they play. Portageville is stuck in a part of the state that could be stronger, while St. Vincent travels to Saint Louis and plays a more demanding schedule. [player_tooltip player_id='225325' first='Kate' last='Rubel'] was one of the best middles in her 2026 class at Notre Dame but has been moved to the outside at St. Vincent. St. Vincent will take this in a sweep to move into the quarterfinals.

Arcadia Valley Tigers 16-14-2 vs. Jefferson Blue Jays 19-8

How they got here:

AV won their 2nd straight year and is looking to make their fourth trip to the final four since 2015. AV won a rather down district this year with a sweep of Kingston and a 3-1 win over West County. Jefferson is looking to return to Cape after winning it all in 2022 and 3rd in 2021. Jefferson won a relatively easy district tournament with sweeps of Med-Bio and Lift for Life.

Prediction: These two met in late September, with Jefferson taking a 25-14, 25-15, and 25-19 win. [player_tooltip player_id='493032' first='Megan' last='Wood'] finished with 21 kills in the win, followed by Maggie Wrigley with nine. AV's [player_tooltip player_id='737619' first='Kayla' last='Sumpter'] was the kill leader with ten. Jefferson had the advantage in kills with 42-23, out-blocked 6-1, and had 27 more digs than AV. This one will go roughly the same as Jefferson moves on to the quarterfinals with a sweep of AV.
