About Delaney

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am tenacious, resilient, and love the game of volleyball. I give 100% whenever possible and I relentlessly pursue every ball in my area. I also try to be the best teammate I can be in an effort to keep the team consistently better.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

You will find me to be honest, hard-working, kind, and a team-player. My coaches would describe me as extremely 'coachable' and a stable, consistent force on the court through all 6 rotations. As a sophomore, I am the speaking captain for our team. This will give me an opportunity to develop my leadership skills.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have been involved in the following: 1. FCCLA (1 year) 2. Band (5 years) 3. Choir (4 years) 4. Student Council (2nd year) 5. School Musical (1 year) 6. School Yearbook (2 years) 7. KSHSAA Student Summit (2025) 8. FCA

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am able to adapt to different circumstances easily, particularly stepping in last year as a freshman playing with seniors and now, playing with almost a whole new team this year. This has prepared me to be an effective leader in the seasons to come. I am also pretty level-headed and can make decisions quickly. I am a 3-sport athlete as well, which contributes to my adaptability.

What type of college are you looking for?

I would like to play at a college or university in the Midwestern region.

So Goessel’s Dureksen has the versatility to be used as an attacker, but I owe her one, so I will include her in the report of defensive maestros. She is in the class of 2028, not the class of 2029, even though she is still listed as a freshman on some public websites, but I keep forgetting. She tallied 346 digs, 418 serve receptions, and 416 kills in her sophomore campaign. I have no idea if she can hit the high note or not, but she is a highlight reel in the making. I have a sneaky suspicion that most college coaches will see her as a defense-first utility hitter at the next level. She is ranked No. 46 overall by Prep Dig Kansas.
