Omoike had a shortened high school season last fall, but she was back at full strength during club and reminded everyone what she’s capable of. Alongside the player right below her, the duo formed one of the most formidable 1-2 punches in the middle that I saw this season.

While some may consider her a bit undersized for the position, her explosiveness and athleticism more than make up for it. She gets off the floor quickly, plays above the net, and consistently impacts the match on both sides of the ball. Another aspect of her game I appreciate is her willingness and ability to contribute in the back row when called upon. That versatility suggests she has the tools to transition to a pin position at the next level if a program sees that as her best fit.

And when Chappell rotated out, Omoike followed and did damage herself. Another explosive athlete who made defenses pay with quick attacks in the gap and Power ful swings on the slide. It was good to see her on the court after missing time this fall. She didn’t appear to have lost a step.

Omoike is a player who has potential due to her athletic and playmaking ability. She is a high-flyer who gets off the ground quickly and has a fast arm swing. She has played primarily in the middle but has taken some swings on the pin, which could be a better positional fit for her in the long run. She played in every set as a freshman for a Platte County team that finished fourth in the state and finished second on the team in kills.

I like front-row players who stay ready and are aggressive at the net and you see that often in Omoike’s film. She is not going to waste an overpass by her opponents and will terminate it with a throw-down or swing. She is really good in quick gap sets and finding the floor with powerful swings.

As Platte County worked to get back to the state tournament, Omoike was a welcomed addition to the squad. The 6’0″ freshman made an immediate impact in the middle for the Pirates showing the ability to affect the match both offensively and defensively. She’s quick off the floor and has tremendous bounce.
