Jingle Bell Jam Jump Outs

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As the holiday season closes in, the Jingle Bell Jam Volleyball Tournament shined a spotlight on some promising players. The tournament this weekend started Oklahoma Club Ball with a bang. The games were tight and competitive, and the girls were better than ever. We got to see how hard each team has been working in the preseason and look forward to following these girls as the club season moves forward. Her blocking footwork and strong press over the net made her unstoppable this weekend. Ella showed strength on overpasses, not allowing them to pass her before she struck them down back onto the other side. She made the passers regret sending the ball over by showing them the definition of a free ball. Ella was efficient in the front row and led her team with strong numbers on offense. Her energy and dominance at the net set the tone for her team. She took a different approach to the game by step blocking and using her height to close the block. Because of her genetic blessings, she can cover a lot of net and be a big presence at the front. Lily was active and involved in the offensive plan for her team this weekend. She is vocal and takes aggressive approaches in the hopes of pulling blockers with her and getting her pin hitters one-on-ones and sometimes even a clear net. Her combination of athleticism, court awareness, and strategic mindset makes her a player to watch as she continues to develop and impact the game at a high level. She plays all 6 rotations, setting in the back row and attacking in the front row. She is what we call a utility player. We were in awe watching her and discovering that there is little to nothing she can't do (and do quite well) on the court. As a setter, she is scrappy and won't give up without a fight. She was put in sticky situations with balls in the net and was able to find a way to get under them and pop it out to keep the ball alive. As a right-side attacker, Emersyn showcased her tool kit of attacks sending the ball hard cross, down the line, and the occasional (but tasteful) tip to the donut. Maddie had a breakout weekend as she worked with her setter to set her team up for success. Because of how dominant she is on the right side, she would consistently pull blockers and give her middles more open court when it was their turn to shine. When it was Maddie's turn- she played lights out. Her setters trust her to score points, as she was given the most attacking attempts. Maddie was/can use the edges of blockers' hands to tool them and find ways to score even when against the biggest of blocks.
