Productive Middles at Skyline Classic Season Opener

The club volleyball season is officially underway and, for the next several months, every weekend will present a new opportunity for prospects around the country to compete and showcase their skills in tournaments.   This past weekend was packed with season-opening tournaments in the state of Texas and Prep Dig was at one of them, the Skyline Classic Season Opener, to check out some of the teams in action.   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li><a href="https://prepdig.com/2024/12/skyline-classic-season-opener-15s-photo-gallery/">Skyline Classic Season Opener: 15s - Photos</a></li> </ul>   We decided to follow the 15s division and, with just six teams competing, were able to take a good look at some of the teams of the always-competitive Skyline Volleyball Club franchise that were in action. We're now taking the week to feature some of the most promising players who were on the court and in today's article, we'll get to know some of the middles who made a strong impression:    Moore was a starter in the [program_tooltip program_id='510661' first='Houston' last='Skyline'] 15 Royal team that took first place with an undefeated campaign of three victories. A pin hitter with her high school team Kinkaid, she plays middle at club and proved to have the tools to perform there as well. Moore is extremely physical and her long arms and big hands make her play at the net even stronger. She wasn't her team's main offensive option, but delivered every time she was set, swinging with power. Her blocking presence was also remarkable as she got some stuffs.    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2024/12/IMG_3603.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-729023" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">[program_tooltip program_id='510661' first='Houston' last='Skyline'] 15 Royal vs. BCS Skyline 15 Black</figcaption></figure>    With Hollingsworth in the middle, TW Skyline 15 Royal finished second with two wins and one loss. She used her length very well at the net and was able to impact the game on both sides of the ball. Hollingsworth's blocking was probably the highlight of her game as she was very successful with he ability to get off the floor quickly and by playing aggressively above the net. She also produced at a good level offensively, taking advantage of her high contact point to score with consistency.    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2024/12/IMG_3576.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-729018" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">TW Skyline 15 Royal vs. BCS Skyline 15 Royal</figcaption></figure>    Jimenez's KVA 15 Nike team got one win and two losses on Saturday, ending up in fourth place in the standings. She was one of the most promising players in the team, combining interesting physical and technical tools. Jimenez had good size and long arms, also moving well at the net. She had a strong blocking presence, getting several touches and helping the defenders behind her. A solid server, Jimenez is still developing her offense, but fired some nice swings when she was able to get her timing right.      Although her BCS Skyline 15 Black finished sixth after dropping all their three matches, Buckner was still able to do a solid job for them and stand out. A very physical player, she used her athleticism to make an impact at the net. Buckner was very efficient offensively, getting off the floor well and hitting the ball with her power. She was also very technical with her blocking, timing her jumps perfectly and placing her hands smartly to take up space from opposing hitters. Buckner was always alert at the net and won some 50-50 duels simply by reacting quicker than her opponents.
