Meet The Backrow Bosses From The NorCal Top 250 Expo

Prepdig Nevada may not have been on-site, but we were fully tuned into the recent NorCal Top 250 Expo LIVE through BallerTV. This event brought out a very impressive group of talented athletes, and it was a privilege to watch them crush our fast-paced drills and team competitions. Even from a distance I could feel the energy through the screen as some of the top liberos and defensive specialists from the 2025-2028 classes showed off their insane skills—amazing saves, perfect out-of-system setting, next-level reading abilities, and leadership in the back row. Here are the backrow bosses who dominated the 2024 NorCal Top 250 Expo.    It didn't take long for me to be impressed by Rachel's insane defensive skills. She was everywhere on the court, making clutch digs to keep rallies alive and giving her team a shot to score. Whenever the setter got the first ball, Nemee was right there to take the second ball and set the pins. Her out-of-system setting was just as solid as her passing, proving she's got mad skills all around. Rachel was consistent all showcase, showing she's a true backrow boss and totally earned her spot as a top-performing DS/L by @prepdigca. --Kantessa @lasvegasvbanalyst @prepdignv     Kaelyn really stood out in the back row, especially with her serve receive passing. She has amazing form and technique when it comes to handling tough float serves, which definitely caught our eye early on. On top of that, she crushed it as the second setter, making accurate out-of-system sets for her teammates. At the NorCal Top 250 Expo, Aquino proved she's a total backrow boss! --Kantessa @lasvegasvbanalyst @prepdignv     Avni was seriously impressive all throughout the showcase. This backrow boss has crazy good hands, making her perfect for out-of-system setting and overhand passing when needed. Her serve receive was on point, and she pulled off some next-level moves to handle tough serves and get them right to the target. She definitely stood out on the receiving end, but her own serve was just as tough—many players couldn't handle it. Avni absolutely crushed it at the NorCal Top 250 Expo and was recognized as one of the top performers! --Kantessa @lasvegasvbanalyst @prepdignv     Megan was the only 2025 at the showcase, and she absolutely held it down for her class, dominating in the back row. She caught my attention right away—her ability to cover her hitters like clockwork and take charge of the court was impressive. Her leadership was on full display throughout the event, like when she called off hitters to take the first ball, setting them up for better swings. Rost is an impressive passer and leader on the court, proving to be a true backrow boss. --Kantessa @lasvegasvbanalyst @prepdignv     Abigail was one of the few players who absolutely killed it on serve receive. She had flawless form, passing tough float serves right to the target zone like it was no big deal. She never hesitated, always reading the server's arms and adjusting to whatever serve came her way. Plus, her own serve was a weapon—seriously tough to handle.
