to the Prep Dig Texas State Ranking List, where she is ranked as the No. 15 overall player in the 2029 grad class. The 6’0” setter and right side from Klein Cain High School and
Houston Skyline
Volleyball Club is one of the most intriguing and versatile prospects in this class. Having the ability to both run an offense and impact the game as an attacker makes her a unique weapon that coaches can utilize in multiple ways. As a setter, Hana displays excellent touch and decision-making, consistently putting her hitters in advantageous positions to score. Her size allows her to see over the defense and create mismatches, especially when she is front row and becomes a legitimate scoring threat herself. On the right side, she brings power and length that make her difficult to defend, giving her team another strong option in transition. Her athleticism and court awareness allow her to seamlessly switch roles without disrupting the flow of the game. Players with this level of versatility and upside are rare, and it is clear that Hana has a very bright future ahead. Please help us congratulate her on earning her place among the top players in Texas.

operates with a calm command that immediately stabilizes her side of the net. Her hand contact is clean and repeatable, allowing her to consistently deliver a hittable ball regardless of pass quality. What stands out is her ability to maintain offensive rhythm—she doesn’t rush tempo, but instead sequences her hitters in a way that keeps blockers from settling. Penberthy shows strong awareness of blocker positioning, using subtle location changes to open seams rather than forcing high-risk decisions.
She excels in managing out-of-system situations, turning broken plays into controlled, competitive swings. Her willingness to utilize the entire pin range, combined with her ability to establish middles early, creates balance that keeps defenses honest. Hana’s poise and distribution give her offense a steady identity, making her a reliable floor general with long-term projection. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas

Hana continues to validate every bit of attention she has received. At 6’0″, she brings ideal size to the setter position, but what truly separates her is her command of the offense. Having consistently played up in older divisions, she stepped into this elite environment without hesitation and looked completely at ease. Her communication stood out just as much as her hands as she was vocal, clear, and connected with her hitters throughout the session. You could see the trust forming in real time. She delivered hittable balls from multiple release points and maintained tempo even during chaotic sequences. Miss Penberthy carries herself with poise well beyond her years, and her decision-making reflects a high volleyball IQ. When her 2029 class rankings debut, expect her name to be prominently featured. She has all the tools to anchor an offense at the highest levels for years to come.

looks well beyond her years and immediately stands out as a frontrunner among setters in the 2029 class. Her movement patterns and overall command of the offense clearly reflect the valuable experience she gained competing at the 15 Open level as an eighth grader. Penberthy plays with a calm confidence, navigating the court smoothly while executing her team’s offensive system with precision. She excels in her dual role as both a setter and right-side hitter, using a high volleyball IQ and advanced skill set to impact the game in multiple phases. As a setter, the ball comes out of her hands clean and effortless, consistently finding targets with outstanding accuracy and tempo. That technical polish allows her hitters to stay aggressive and in rhythm throughout matches. Beyond the physical tools, she serves as an extension of her coaching staff on the court, directing traffic and making smart adjustments in real time. Her teammates clearly trust her leadership, and that trust elevates the entire group when the match tightens.

Penberthy played for the Houston Skyline 15 Royal team that ranked first in the event with three wins and no sets dropped. Vastly recognized as one of the top setters in the state in her age group, she performed as so and led her team to a dominant campaign with her consistent game and superior volleyball IQ. Always very accurate with her location, Penberthy was brilliant with her distribution, consistently getting her hitters to swing 1v1 at the pins. She was also very aggressive with her setter dumps, which should actually be called setter swings, as she turned her body entirely to the opposite side of the net and unleashed it with her left arm. The setter also stood out with her incredible all-around game, performing well with her blocking at the net and from the service line and when playing defense on the back row.

The freshman setter had a nice performance in her first high school match, doing what she could to try to keep Klein Cain in the game against a strong opponent. Penberthy had to work with passes off the net for most of the match, but kept trying to find solutions to improve the team’s offense. Despite the situation, she remained accurate and diversified her distribution as much as she could. Penberthy contributed with some swings on the third set and also had good moments with her serving and when playing defense.

Miss Penberthy is currently an unranked prospect in the 2029 class according to our Texas State Rankings but that is only because we have not released them yet. Everything that I saw from her tells me that she will definitely be listed when I update the list next month. She plays volleyball at Klein Cain high School and also for the
Houston Skyline
volleyball club. Texas has had some amazing young setters come through the volleyball scene and I think we have another phenom on our hands named

. Not only is she a very technical setter with elite skills, but she has a super high volleyball IQ and works as hard as anyone else you have ever seen. I spoke to her a few times at the showcase and enjoyed every second of it. The way she carries herself on the court shows that she is a natural leader. As you watch her move and interact with other players, you see someone who plays well beyond her age. If you do not know her name, I strongly suggest you write it down and remember the name. We are very proud to have had her in the gym and will be covering her high school journey closely. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award at our showcase.

Penberthy is part of the Houston Skyline 15 Royal team that will be in contention in the 15 Open division in Dallas. Despite playing one age group up, she’s a key piece in one of the strongest teams in the state, bringing a lot to the table with her amazing all-around game. Her ball-handling is excellent, and she does a great job of keeping all of her hitters involved, which makes Skyline’s offense very difficult to predict and stop. A lefty, Penberthy can also contribute offensively if needed, picking her shots with great intelligence and consistently putting the ball down. She plays with great composure and confidence and very rarely makes a technical error.

Penberthy was a key player in the Houston Skyline 15 Royal that ranked first despite playing one age group up with an undefeated campaign of five wins. She doubled up as a setter and right side hitter for them and performed both roles extremely well. If her setting skills were well-known to me, I was very excited to see Penberthy perform on offense as she used her size and strong technique to swing extremely well with her skilled left arm. She also appeared well on the backcourt, creating problems for opponents with her tough floater and getting several touches on defense.
