Elena Paz is a standout libero for Rock Canyon who has been a major part of the team’s defensive success this fall. Paz brings impressive speed and athleticism to the court, allowing her to cover a lot of ground and make difficult plays look easy. She does an excellent job picking up tip balls and chasing down shanked passes, keeping plays alive in crucial moments. What really separates Paz is her exceptional ball control in serve receive and her ability to deliver quality second contacts, putting her hitters in a great position to score even in out of system situations.

Elena Paz is a standout libero who remains uncommitted heading into her senior season. Paz brings consistency in serve receive, taking a large portion of the court and giving Rock Canyon a steady presence in the back row. She reads opposing hitters extremely well and is quick on her feet, allowing her to pick up tips, shots, and hard-driven attacks. Rock Canyon relies on Paz to anchor its defense, and she continues to put up elite numbers while proving she is ready to compete at the next level.

Paz brings an impressive level of control to the back row. She moves with purpose and does a nice job getting herself into position early rather than making unnecessary adjustments at the last second. Her defensive game appears organized, which allows her to create clean first contacts for her offense. What stands out most is how prepared she stays throughout the rally. Paz is light on her feet, reads the ball well, and is willing to cover plenty of ground when the play requires it. She also brings a steady presence to serve receive and understands the importance of keeping the ball playable. Reliable back-row athletes are incredibly valuable, and Paz continues to show the type of consistency that can make a major difference for a team.

Paz brings a platform you can count on. Her passing stays steady because she doesn’t let the ball dictate her movement. Instead, she gets her body behind the ball and keeps her platform strong and consistent. One thing I love watching is her split step. She stays light and ready to move in any direction, which gives her a great starting point before the ball even comes her way. Paz is building her name through reliability, and that is something every team needs.

Paz plays with great energy and remains active from the first point to the last. She tracks the ball well and reacts quickly when plays begin to break down. Furthermore, she brings a competitive edge that shows up in extended rallies. Her willingness to pursue every ball helps create extra opportunities for her team.

Paz brings a steady and controlled presence to the back row. Whether it’s defense, serve receive, or coverage, she consistently puts herself in position to extend rallies. She moves forward well and avoids getting caught high on the ball, helping her stay balanced defensively. On top of that, Paz does a nice job taking command of the back row. Her recruiting film is current and easy for coaches to find and evaluate.

Elena is a smart and instinctive defender who finds ways to keep the ball alive. She reads the game well and utilizes emergency moves like knee drives and overhead digs to pick up tough shots. One of her strengths is getting her feet stopped at the right time, allowing her to react quickly and change directions as needed. In serve receive, she keeps things simple and effective, staying squared to the server and delivering clean, consistent passes.
