About ShiAnne

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style is technical. I try my best to play smart and continually work on developing my volleyball IQ to be where I am needed.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is positive, if not this ball then the next. Im very sociable and I like to make my friends laugh, but I also know when it’s time to lock in.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yearbook, National Honor Society, Honor Roll, Oklahoma History Student of the Year

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have the opportunity this season to be a setter (different than my Libero position) and I am captain for my team. I have worked hard on being a positive leader for my teammates and encouraging them. I have also learned the importance of working together.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Switching from Libero to Setter has been a challenge this season but I am so grateful for the opportunity because I am learning more about volleyball. I have improved my defensive play but also learned a lot about offense. And I keep learning new things every week.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that will help me grow as a student and an athlete but also feels like home. I’m hoping for a college that has great student involvement and active engagement and support for academics and sports.
