Top Performers at Capital Classic~17/18's Division

The Capital Classic in Bismarck kicked off bright and early, and it was nothing short of spectacular! The 17/18's division set the tone for the day with high-intensity matchups and nonstop action. From the first serve, it was clear this tournament was going to be one for the books. Every gym was buzzing with battles, and the excitement was palpable as the athletes hit the court ready to compete. By the end of a long, hard-fought day, the 15 Volt-Open claimed the Gold Division thrillingly. With so much talent on display, I'm excited to highlight my top 10 performers of the day. Let's get into it!    Mackenzie is a standout setter whose performance today was nothing short of exceptional. Her high volleyball IQ shines in every play, particularly with her crafty and effective setter dumps—arguably the best I saw all day. Beyond her technical skills, Mackenzie's work ethic and determination set her apart. She brought relentless energy to the court, elevating not just her game but her entire team's performance. It's no surprise she's committed to UND for volleyball. Mackenzie is a next-level player with advanced skills and one of the strongest work ethics I've witnessed.~Theresa @prepdigdakotas     Norah came out as a go-getter from the very first whistle. Her setting and ball placement were on point, showcasing her ability to run a dynamic offense. She confidently executed a variety of plays, keeping her hitters involved and the opposing defense guessing. Norah's leadership and precision on the court make her a setter to watch.~Theresa @prepdigdakotas     When Alexis steps on the court, she demands your attention. Her calm composure at the net is deceptive because, the moment she swings, it's pure power and precision. Her athleticism is next-level—she floats in the air, making every attack look effortless, and her explosive arm swing leaves defenses scrambling. College coaches, don't let this gem slip by—Alexis is a game-changer, and any team would be lucky to have her.~Theresa @prepdigdakotas     Jordyn was a force to watch at the net. Her aggressive mindset keeps her constantly attacking and putting pressure on the opposing team. She moves side to side with ease, making her blocking both efficient and effective. Jordyn's presence at the net is commanding, and her determination sets her apart as a standout middle hitter.~Theresa @prepdigdakotas     Baylor's defensive IQ was unmatched today. Facing off against some of the top hitters in the state, she held her ground and showcased elite defensive skills, reading the game flawlessly and making clutch plays. Baylor's ability to anticipate and shut down attacks sets her apart, solidifying her reputation as one of the best defenders in the state for her age. An absolute standout on the court!~Theresa @prepdigdakotas     Kinley was an absolute boss in the back row. Her ability to read the offense was seamless, allowing her to move effortlessly and position herself perfectly. Quick on her feet and always anticipating the next play, Kinley was a defensive powerhouse and a key contributor on the court.~Theresa @prepdigdakotas     Ashley was the definition of an all-around player, bringing relentless energy and leadership to her team through her actions. In the front row, her quick approaches, impressive vertical, and powerful arm swing made her a constant offensive threat. Her serving was another standout aspect of her game, keeping opponents guessing and under pressure. With her talent and work ethic, there's no doubt we'll be seeing Ashley at the college level.~Theresa @prepdigdakotas     Sylvia is a name you need to remember. She quickly became one of my favorite players to watch throughout the tournament. As a right-side hitter, she was a constant threat at the net, delivering powerful and precise attacks that kept defenses on edge. What truly set her apart was her ability to dominate in the back row as well, making her a versatile and well-rounded player. There's no doubt Sylvia will rise to the top ranks by the end of club season—she's a force to be reckoned with!~Theresa @prepdigdakotas     Azjiah is a dynamic force on the court, bringing a contagious energy that inspires her teammates to elevate their game. As a middle hitter, she is relentless at the net, attacking with power and precision, always easily fighting through blocks. Her aggressive playstyle makes her a constant threat, and her leadership qualities shine as she pushes her team to work harder. If you're looking for a player who makes an impact, Azjiah is one to watch—her talent and drive are undeniable!~Theresa @prepdigdakotas     Olivia is a freshman already making waves and is firmly on our radar as one of the top players to watch for the class of 2028. Her presence at the net is strong, and her explosive arm swing is one of her standout traits. She attacks with power and precision, making her a real threat. With her skill set and potential, Olivia is a player to keep an eye on as she continues to develop!~Theresa @prepdigdakotas    The first tournament of the year did not disappoint! These teams came out firing on all cylinders, showcasing grit, strong team chemistry, and an unrelenting drive. It was an incredible start to the season, and the level of competition was electrifying. With so much talent filling the gyms, these athletes are just a few of the many standout players making waves.
