About Breanna

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

In gameplay, I always put in my best effort both at practices and games. I communicate with my teammates and keep the energy high in my environment. I hustle to every ball and put in 100% whether we’re winning or losing. If I make a mistake, I own it and correct it the next chance I get.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

A big part of my mentality is that when I’m playing and I make a mistake, I listen to corrections, and I shake off the mistake, ready to go into the next play. I won’t do myself or my teammates any favors by dwelling on what I could’ve done better. I focus on what I can do going forward to avoid making the same mistakes.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have previously been involved in my student leadership as well as the performing arts program at my junior high. Additionally, I competed in the my school, district, county, and state spelling bees. I have won science, history, and student of the trimester awards.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Throughout my years playing volleyball, I have acquired many helpful skills for both on and off the court. For example, when I’m playing and my team’s energy is low, I do my best to be a leader and uplift my teammates. I always try to set a positive example for others. I have also learned how to function as part of a team and communicate with my peers clearly.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

In my first year of playing club volleyball, I dislocated my knee at practice. I was unable to play for numerous practices and a tournament. I had to work my way back to being able to walk, and then play. It was hard being unable to participate in my team practices and games. My recovery was hard, but speedy due to the encouragement of teammates and coaches.

What type of college are you looking for?

The type of college I’m looking for is one that will support me both academically as well as in sports with a strong science and pre-med program and a volleyball team that allows their players to continue to develop their skills while providing a positive environment on and off the court.
