About Josephine

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

A high energy setter with a high volleyball game IQ. Reading the defense, distributing the ball well, and connecting with the hitters is something I take pride in. I run a 5-1 on both my high school and club team. My primary focus is to remain fiercely competitive, consistent, and utilize my leadership skills to channel positive energy both on and off the court.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I play for Lockport Township High School and Attack Volleyball Club. Most recently, I received the honor of 2024 AAU All-Tournament Team and also serve as club team capatain. I am a member of the Student Leadership Team at my high school, received the student of the quarter award, and made the high honor roll.

Baranowski does a great job in that setter spot running the squad. Caught my eye with how she sees the opposing side of the court. Giving setter kills with one hand, setter dumps with 2, or even a jumping setter back set dump in short corner, impressive! Has nice soft hands when setting hitters. And like I said, she reads the court very well in knowing where the defense is and knowing what hitters to send the set. Good awareness from Josephine.
