How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I like to be strategic in my hits and serves. Being a middle blocker, I move a lot on the court and try to use my blocks as much as I can. My goal is to help my team the best way I know how, and I do that being consistent with blocks, hits and serves. I have also worked back row so my gameplay style is really being as useful as possible.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m very quiet but very competitive and ambitious. I’ve been that way since I was a kid. I work hard and stay focused on my goals. I know I can achieve anything with the right mentality.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in several clubs at school as well as student pilot memberships - 99s and Women in Aviation International (WAI). I have a goal to receive my private pilot license before I graduate high school and I am currently on track for that. The groups I am in at school are Model UN, Debate, National English Honor Society, Black Heritage Club and National Social Studies Honor Society.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I feel I am pretty well-rounded at this time in my life because I have acquired over 50 hours of community service, I play multiple sports and value teamwork and I also work part-time and own a crochet business. With my business, I donate some of my crochet items to the homeless. I think being active and involved in school and my community help develop me as a leader.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One of the challenges I have faced is with my mom being a single mom for most of my life. She’s been a single mom for 12 of my 16 years, and I know that hasn’t been easy for her, but she has tried to give me a wonderful life with opportunities many kids probably wouldn’t have.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a Division II/III school that has opportunities for me to grow and flourish as a new adult and aspiring college athlete. My future goal is to become a corporate attorney so having pre-law or zoology as a major and study abroad opportunities would be ideal. I’m currently looking for colleges in New York, Florida and California, but I am open to other states as well.
