As I have stated before my focus this cub season is watching 14s and putting together Prep Dig Kansas' first rankings for the Class of 2029.

I scouted four matches at the Keeper Of The Plains Tournament in Wichita.

I was able to get out of the parking lot without a scratch and it is too pretty to be working in my hotel room the rest of the day, but that's the plan.

The first match I scouted was a two-set Kansas Networks 14-2 victory over [program_tooltip program_id='752463' first='Southwest' last='Smoke'] 14-1. Here are six athletes I enjoyed watching.

Profiles for each of these athletes have been created and athletes can claim their FREE profiles by using this link https://prepdig.com/prospect-index/#claim-profile-anchor

Athletes are encouraged to claim their profiles and add contact information and video highlights. Athletes with claimed profiles will get a slight advantage in the rankings at the onset. The more complete a profile is, the better a source it serves as for the college coaches who subscribe to our site.

[player_tooltip player_id='753157' first='Claire' last='Briggs'], 5'7”, DS/L, Seaman, '29 (KS Networks 14-2)

Seaman is a perennial state power in Kansas and it looks like there is plenty of talent in the pipeline Briggs played a steady defensive match for Kansas Networks. She recorded five digs and eight clean serve receptions in the opening match of the day. She is an accurate passer. I was impressed with how she and the entire team played in an 8:00 am start time.

[player_tooltip player_id='753158' first='Bristol' last='Harper'], 5'7”, OH, Jefferson West, '29 (KS Networks 14-2)

Haper is a six-rotation athlete to keep an eye on. She can set and hit. She posted solid numbers finishing with three kills, two digs, and seven serve receptions. She has an athletic frame and I am guessing she might play multiple sports. She has natural athleticism that you can't coach.

[player_tooltip player_id='753159' first='Avalon' last='Simpson'], 5'6”, OH/DS/L, Rossville, '29 (KS Networks 14-2)

Simpson was the leading attacker for the Northeast Kansas club team. She finished with five kills The Rossville prospect has an accurate serve and can effectively serve short or long. She has a nice bounce in her game and can maintain her composure in high-pressure rallies.

[player_tooltip player_id='753160' first='Avery' last='Henry'], 5'6”, RS, Rossville, '29 (KS Networks 14-2)

Henry could easily be overlooked on this team, but she plays with grit and has a high IQ for the game. She did a little bit of everything in the match and finished with two kills, two digs, and two serve receptions. Rossville has some talent in the Class of 2029 for sure.

[player_tooltip player_id='753163' first='Kaylee' last='Rojas'], 5'4”, DS/L, Dodge City, '29 ([program_tooltip program_id='752463' first='Southwest' last='Smoke'])

Rojas was one of my favorite liberos in Wichita. She makes consistent first passes. She does need to settle down her feet some. She starts with a good defensive platform but takes some unnecessary steps while the ball is in the air. She had five digs and seven serve receptions for the Smoke. She plays with high energy. She like everyone in this report is super young, but I would like to see her be more vocal and take charge on the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='753161' first='Mena' last='Estrella'], 5'5”, MB/DS, Dodge City, '29 ([program_tooltip program_id='752463' first='Southwest' last='Smoke'])

Estrella is an athletic prospect that I liked. She had an off-hitting day, but she understands the game and what it takes to play at a high level. She had three digs and three serve receptions. She has an athletic frame and plays like she enjoys the game and plans to play it for a long time to come. Estrella also looks like a future leader and captain for her future squads.
