Rockin Rockford Grand Prix: Who Rocked the AM Wave on Day 1

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Day one of pool play kicked off with the 15 and 16s division competing in the AM wave. As I walked around the venue, I knew it was going to be a good scouting day. There were many teams and players that I have not had the fortune of seeing play before today. She has a great vertical, reads the ball well, and has quick footwork that aid in her being able to stop many attackers from scoring. Schoenike was also highly effective on offense. She has excellent court vision. Felton does a great job getting her feet to the ball to ensure that she delivers clean sets to her attackers. Felton has great court vision and knows how to get all of her attackers involved. She has a big vertical and explosive approach. Combine that with her quick, heavy swing and you have a player that is hard to stop. Teams often tried to serve to her in order to prevent her from attacking. However, Ansell already knows how to receive and quickly transition out to be a terminating option. She is quick, has good footwork, and can track down almost everything. Her out of system setting was exceptional for her age group. I was also impressed with her court vision and setting choices. Running a 5-1 offense, Cho did a good job getting all of her hitters involved. I was impressed with not only her big swing, but her choice of location. She read and adapted to the block in front of her well. Making great choices, she varied her shots between line and cross. Her approach is explosive, she can hang in the air, and she delivers some big attacks that defenders can not handle. Kruzolek is also a versatile attacker. She can terminate from both pins, out of the middle, from the backrow, and when on the move running routes.
