Difference-making liberos at Cross Court Classic 15 Open division

Brown Convention Center, in downtown Houston, this past weekend, as the venue hosted the 2025 edition of the Nike Cross Court Classic, one of the most traditional club tournaments of the year.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This year's edition featured 710 teams from all over Texas and neighboring states, which competed for two days in one of the 29 divisions of one of the largest tournaments held in Houston in 2025.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:list --> <ul class="wp-block-list"><!-- wp:list-item --> <li><a href="https://prepdig.com/2025/03/nike-cross-court-classic-15-open-photos/">Nike Cross Court Classic: 15 Open - Photos</a></li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Dig Texas was in attendance on Saturday and we got to watch all eight teams that competed in the 15 Open division. A long libero, she displayed great defensive range, getting touches in many balls on the backcourt. Because of her excellent ball control, Winn performed many digs at the left back position, controlling hard-driven swings and stretching to get to tips. She was one of the best pure defenders in the division, displaying a great ability to control hard-driven swings and generating many second chances for her team to score points. Wittman displayed impressive reflexes on the backcourt and made many hustle plays, doing whatever it took to keep the ball off the floor. HEAT was a crafty, hard-working team, which was very difficult to score at and the libero reflected that into her game. A very technical player, she led their passing efforts and had a very high with her deliveries. Sauceda also hustled on the backcourt, sparing no effort to recover shanked passes. The libero was one of their bright spots, efficiently handling her backcourt duties and providing some defensive stability for the team. George was always well-positioned on the backcourt and used her solid ball control to make impressive defensive plays - she was also very consistent with her passing.
