Expert Analysis
Theresa Hickman | Prep Dig Scout
Why do you want to play college volleyball?
I want to play college volleyball because I think it would be a cool experience and I would meet a lot of new people who are interested in the same thing I am.
What does your training schedule look like in-season and off-season?
I play other sports, basketball and track, in the off season and during the summer we lift as a team and attend many camps.
What are your academic interests or intended major?
I am interested in nursing and also pharmacy.
How do you balance school, sports, and your personal life?
I like to really focus on one thing at a time. So if I am in school I would try to only focus on that.
My Final Thoughts:
If I am a college coach looking for offense on June 15,

is one of the first players I am making a call on. There are hitters who put up numbers, and then there are hitters opponents spend an entire match trying to slow down. Jaycee falls into the second category. She has established herself as one of the most dangerous attackers in South Dakota because of her ability to take over stretches of a match and put points on the board when her team needs them most. What makes her especially intriguing is that she continues to find ways to score even when defenses know the ball is coming her way. Those types of attackers are difficult to find. The production speaks for itself, but so does the respect she has earned from opposing teams. When conversations begin about the top hitters in the state, Jaycee’s name belongs near the front of that discussion. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas

is the definition of a complete six-rotation outside, and her ranking as South Dakota’s No. 5 overall prospect and No. 1 outside hitter reflects just how impactful she already is. She plays the game with power, pace, and purpose—bringing a presence that shows up in every phase of the match.
Offensively, Jaycee is a high-volume, high-efficiency scorer. With 600+ career kills already to her name, she’s proven she can carry an offense and deliver in big moments. Her approach is aggressive, her arm swing is fast, and she isn’t afraid to take swings against set blocks. She creates separation with pace and elevation, and she continues to expand her shot range, making her difficult to scheme against.
What elevates her beyond a terminal attacker is her back-row impact. With 700+ career digs, Jaycee is just as influential in serve receive and defense as she is at the pin. She reads hitters well, covers ground with urgency, and keeps rallies alive with effort plays that shift momentum. She’s a true six-rotation weapon who never leaves the floor.
Jaycee’s competitive edge shows under pressure. She plays with confidence late in sets, embraces responsibility, and maintains composure when matches tighten. That mentality, paired with her production, is what separates her from the field.
She’s not just an outside hitter—she’s a program cornerstone.

is a highly versatile athlete with the physical tools and volleyball IQ to contribute anywhere on the court. At 5’10”, her biggest strength lies in her role as an outside hitter—where she terminates consistently with a powerful swing and sharp cross-court shots. But her skill set doesn’t stop there. Jaycee has shown the ability to swing from the middle, adjusting quickly to tempo sets and staying active in transition. Defensively, she battles in the back row with solid platform control, reliable serve receive, and smart court awareness. Whether she’s scoring at the pin or holding her own in coverage, Jaycee is the kind of complete player coaches love to have on the floor.~@prepdigdakotas
