Currently ranked No. 21 overall in the Texas 2028 class by Prep Dig, Isabella Osborn Isabella Osborn 5'4" | DS/L Plano Senior | 2028 State TX once again demonstrated why she is regarded as one of the premier back-row players in the state while competing at the prestigious Triple Crown NIT. Her serve-receive platform was steady and repeatable throughout the weekend, consistently delivering quality first contacts that allowed her offense to operate in system. What separated her, however, was not just clean passing mechanics but it was her emergency defensive skill set. Osborn has an advanced ability to react to fast deflections off the block, often appearing to slow the game down as she reads and adjusts mid-play. She refuses to concede points, extending rallies with sheer grit and determination. Technically, her posture stays disciplined even in chaos, allowing her to recover and re-balance quicker than most players at this level. She covers hitters with intent, understanding defensive responsibilities rather than simply reacting to the ball. Equally impressive was her leadership presence during adverse stretches. When momentum swung against her team, she was vocal in calming teammates, reinforcing composure, and reminding them to settle into their roles. High-fives, eye contact, and direct communication were constant and subtle but critical elements of back-row leadership. That steadiness is invaluable from the libero position, where emotional control often dictates defensive cohesion. Isabella Osborn Isabella Osborn 5'4" | DS/L Plano Senior | 2028 State TX is the Libero for Madfrog 16N Green who leads the backcourt both vocally and by example. She is constantly on the move, anticipating the play and getting into the right gaps to make smart, effective defensive plays. Isabella’s energy, communication, and ability to read the game make her a reliable anchor for her team, giving her setters and hitters confidence to execute on every play.

From a coaching standpoint, Isabella Osborn Isabella Osborn 5'4" | DS/L Plano Senior | 2028 State TX stands out as a back-row defender whose game is built on efficiency, consistency, and repeatable technique. At 5’4”, she plays with a low, balanced posture, allowing her to move cleanly in all directions and stay stable through first contact. In serve-receive, Osborn shows disciplined footwork and strong platform control, consistently angling passes to target rather than simply keeping the ball in play. She reads servers well, adjusts her starting position early, and minimizes late movement, which improves her passing accuracy. Defensively, she tracks hitters effectively and uses anticipation rather than reaction, putting herself in position before the swing occurs. Her pursuit angles are clean, and she does a good job controlling digs into playable space instead of overextending. Osborn communicates well in the back row and helps organize coverage responsibilities, a trait that coaches value at the libero position. Speaking of her emergency techniques, defensively, she is one of the best in the business at handling fast-paced attacks.  Equipped with lightning quick fast-twitch muscle fibers that rival Spiderman, she can use her entire body to keep the ball from hitting the floor.  I have personally been amazed and my jaw was left hanging after witnessing some stellar digs.  This young lady is a “can’t miss” recruit who needs to be on everyone’s short list of liberos to watch. 

Bella has risen in the State Rankings once again.  She is now currently ranked as the 21^st best overall player according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings.  She plays for Plano Senior High School and also plays for the MadFrog volleyball club program.  This feisty libero is not afraid to battle against any top attacker and plays better when the going gets tough.  Her stock is rising fast and it was a no brainer for us to move her up.  We think she has such a high ceiling to keep improving and will be watching her closely this year as we think she will have a big breakout in the recruiting scene.  Hard driven balls and pursuit of errant passes are her specialty.  She might be one of the best defenders that I have personally seen cushion the ball in order to make sure that the dig stayed on her team’s side of the court for her setter to run offense.  They way that she collapses her entire body to absorb contact is phenomenal.  Please help us congratulate her on moving up in our prestigious State Rankings.
