About Avery

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I get energy from pounding a ball to the floor, but I also get deep satisfaction from digging the hardest hitters on the other side of the net. Coaches have called me a glue player and a Swiss Army knife.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am disciplined and thrive in the grind. I am vocal on the court and my club coach said that I bring calm to my teammates around me during times of chaos.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Leadership as varsity floor captain, club team captain, coaching Mini’s VB teams. Community service through Buddy Ball volunteer and Church volunteer.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, I was sidelined with an injury my 8th grade volleyball season, but despite it all never missed a practice or a game the entire season. Supporting my team from the sideline taught me many lessons that will carry with me my entire life.

What type of college are you looking for?

One that is medium to small and values a 6-rotation OH/DS.

Asp led Hilliard Davidson offensively at 2.8 k/s earning herself a 2nd team all-league selection in the OCC-Central division. With the need to fill some big offensive shoes following the 2024 season, Asp took the reigns as a veteran passer and arm returning for the Wildcats. They used her in a variety of ways at the net and she produced with her arm control for placement and ability to swing aggressively versus the net defense. Her 228 kills were balanced by her defensive work with 246 digs. Look for her this club season with Elite VBTC’s top 17U squad.
