About V’estheriah

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe my gameplay style by playing mentally and physically smart, and making the adjustments based on the game situation.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am very determined and motivated when I am on the court. The tension and pace of the game makes me determine to do better, and motivate myself to push further. My personality is very energetic and social to everyone I know, and interact with.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am currently involved in a radio station called KJBJ, and I have earned an honor roll certificate for a 3.0 GPA or higher.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed skills such as teamwork, leadership, and confidence. I have developed the skills to work with others no matter what, and build a good bond/chemistry with them. Leadership is a huge part of my skill level, due to leading others and helping them in difficult situations. The confidence I have built for myself is to stay motivated in something I love.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have faced one significant challenge, and that is by being born with Brachial plexus palsy on the left arm. Due to this, I had faced challenges such as not raising my arm up fully and not being able to face my arm upwards. As I overcame this obstacle of challenges, I have practiced more on building confidence and working with my left arm.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a school that will feel like home for 4 years of college. While looking for colleges, I am looking forward to joining a college with a good sports management program for me to join, along with numerous scholarships, and financial opportunities.

V’Estheriah reflected on the mental demands of competing in three-set matches and how her team stayed composed through the toughest moments in the division. She felt she helped her team most by playing “more mental than physical,” identifying open spots on the court and using those reads to score in pressure situations. Moving forward, her focus is on sustaining energy from start to finish, both mentally and physically, recognizing how encouragement, cheering, and learning from mistakes directly impact performance. Off the court, V’Estheriah brings that same energy into coaching, serving as a first-year assistant coach for 11-year-olds and finding motivation in helping others grow through the sport.

V’Estheriah will compete next at the NCVA League Qualifiers from January 31 to February 1.
