The spotlight never left her side, much like the endless summer daylight she’s accustomed to back home in Alaska. Quick hands with a consistently high contact point, allowing her to deliver a clean, repeatable release. I really like her one-foot pivot on medium passes to the pin, helping her maintain tempo without sacrificing ball location. Comfortable jump setting and does an excellent job running different systems. It’s easy to see the technical foundation in her game; having established it through her mother, a former collegiate setter, shows in her mechanics and decision-making.

Brooklynn Freeman brings an assertive tempo to the setter position, with a clear emphasis on speed, consistency, and creating scoring opportunities for her hitters. Her focus on delivering hittable sets in any situation suggests a player who is comfortable operating under pressure and adjusting on the fly.

Her response reflects a player who values adaptability and leadership, with an understanding that a setter’s role is to elevate the entire offense. There is a strong connection between her energy and her ability to keep teammates engaged and confident.

She has been working on consistency across all types of sets, including jump sets, quick tempos, and back sets, while refining her body control to keep her delivery neutral. That attention to detail adds deception and allows her to create opportunities before blockers can fully commit.

We are excited to welcome Miss. Freeman to the SLC Showcase as she looks to apply her fast-tempo offense and no-ball-drop mentality in a setting that rewards speed, control, and adaptability.
