Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I play loosely, because I've learned that playing tense I make more mistakes. Reminding myself to rely on my training and that I know what to do. I always serve tough, and know that getting a team out of system is almost as beneficial as an ace. I like to take risks as well if there's room for it, dumping the ball at crucial points always catches the opponent off guard. Establishing middles early.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I'm a positive person both on and off the court and always make it a point to initiate conversations in huddles or in practice to ensure my teammates and I are all on the same page. I am a loud person, but usually take a bit of time to establish my role on a team, but am very friendly once I get to know everyone. My mentality on the court is to rely on my training and go all out no matter score.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I have received top 25 of my class my freshman and junior year, and I'm involved in numerous clubs at school like, California Scholarship Federation, Financial literacy club, Publicity Chair for the school for the upcoming school year.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I have developed all these skills playing all different sports growing up. I played competitive basketball since I was young before playing volleyball, and that taught me what hard work was and how a team functioned. I'm also highly involved in school ASB and have held positions of office, doing tons of community service and leading school events.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
In April of this year I got 1st-3rd degree burns from a kitchen fire on 8/10 of my fingers and on my feet. This was devastating as it was right before my club team had our last 3 qualifying tournaments. It was hard to watch my team compete without me from an injury that wasn't even sports related. Missing the end of the season was hard, but I'm grateful my injury wasn't worse and I'm back playing.
What type of college are you looking for?
With my skill sets I'm currently on track to attend a junior college or a lower division 3. I'm more interested in attending a junior college then transferring to a 4 year. I want to stay in California and love the coast. I'm interested in playing in a competitive conference and getting the most experience as possible before transferring after my 2 years.
