About Tehya

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I stay poise under pressure. Communicating between and during plays is something I’m very big on. Make sure I stay aggressive on defense, while also smoothly running the offense as being a setter.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

You have to be comfortable with the uncomfortable in order to improve. Consistently putting 110% effort is very important to me. Staying positive and making self corrections after every mistake is something crucial to me as well.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

School & education is very important to me. I’ve received Principal Honor Roll award meaning I have maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout each trimester.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve developed leadership & teamwork by being a setter for my club seasons. This allowed me to guide the team with what plays we will run, and how to get the best opportunities for my hitters. For community service, I have helped teach dance classes for younger girls with my Tahitian dancing organization.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

In the past, I’ve had anxiety. Since then, I have learned how to adapt and overcome the past fears I had.

What type of college are you looking for?

My hopes is to attend a college with a good volleyball program that fits my playing style, allowing me to contribute to the team. It is also important to me that they have the major I wish to take part in.
