About Brilynn

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I approach each game play by play and stay in the moment. My instincts allow me to anticipate plays, adjust quickly, and consistently be in the right place at the right time. I am able to adjust for myself and for my team under pressure.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Coaches praise me for my work ethic, poise under pressure, and natural leadership on and off the court. I play one ball at a time. I bring intensity, consistency, and smart decision-making to every set. I am consistently working on my abilities and skill. The court is where I thrive. I love to hype my team and keep spirits high!

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Wild Whatcom Hiking Group: 2019-2025 Apex NW Volleyball Club Coach Assistant-Little Triangles 2024 Boys and Girls Club of Whatcom County Junior Coach 2025 Fairhaven Middle School- Inclusivity Award

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

It’ important to model positive mindset in mistakes and in wins. I am a leader on the court and try to be a confidence builder for my teammates. Overtime volleyball has built my personal confidence and has been a constant for me. I give my time as a junior coach at the local Boys and Girls Club where my journey started, in hopes of helping fuel a passion or to be a positive presence for someone.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have been lucky in the sense that I haven't had to navigate any significant challenges and that I have strong family support. I recognize this and feel blessed. Both of my parents overcame a lot of trauma and challenges throughout their childhoods and they have worked hard to heal and provide my sisters and I with a psychologically safe home and support.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am an incoming freshman, so to be honest, I don’t exactly know the answer. I think I will know that the college and team feels like a second home when I am in that space. I would hope for support, encouragement, and a big sprinkle of hype!
