About Hailey
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I am a setter who enjoys running quick-tempo and smart offensive plays. I consistently work hard to refine my skills and build better court awareness. During games, having a strong mindset helps me stay focused for long periods of time while I also contribute on defense with digs and strong serving stats.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I have a strong work ethic and always put in the extra time and effort to reach my goals. I have built a strong mental where I am able to handle discomfort and pick myself up when things go downhill.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I am a secretary for a high school tutoring club that helps students with academic studies. Growing up, I also participated in art contests and received awards.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
Having being the team captain for the last four years, I have learnt to be a leader with a strong mentality who can hold a team together through a downfall. I am always open to hear my team’s concerns both inside and outside the court, resulting in strong relationships.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
As a setter, I am demanded to be vocal and hold the standard for my team. However, I have been told about my “too nice” personality. I am striving to become more outspoken and still be a mindful setter who can communicate and listen effectively to those around me.
What type of college are you looking for?
I’m looking for a college that combines a strong academic program with a competitive volleyball environment.
