Nebraska’s Big Winners in Wave 4 of AAU Nationals

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We still have so much unfinished business from Orlando.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The summer flurry of postseason volleyball has given us so many angles to cover from AAU and USAV Nationals. We appreciate everyone's engagement as we chip away at a head-spinning number of topics, and we'll keep the momentum going through much of July--a perfect lead-in to July 26's Prep Dig Showcases in La Vista.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This feature brings us back to AAUs. The final wave in Orlando brought in a heap of 15U divisions and three more 16U groups. It was a glimpse into many future stars of the Cornhusker State, and we have some broad takeaways from all the action.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline">Nebraska Elite--Again!</span></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:image {"id":787422,"width":"346px","height":"auto","sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"none","align":"right"} --> <figure class="wp-block-image alignright size-large is-resized"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2025/06/IMG_6461.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-787422" style="width:346px;height:auto" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Nebraska Elite 15 Prime competes at the 2025 Midwest Power League.</figcaption></figure> <!-- /wp:image --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This sounds familiar, right?</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Nebraska Elite was identified as a big winner when we covered <a href="https://prepdig.com/2025/06/nebraskas-big-winners-in-wave-3-of-aau-nationals/">Wave 3 of AAU Nationals</a>. Those competition dates featured some of Nebraska Elite's best performances on the 16s and 17s. The same trend materialized as we introduced the 15s in Wave 4.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>And, just like Wave 3, all of Nebraska Elite's Wave 4 contenders finished AAU Nationals with a winning record. The top-placing team from the club was <strong>Nebraska Elite 15 Prime</strong>, which went deep into the 15 Select race and reached the Gold bracket's quarterfinal round. 15 Prime's 9-2 effort was a continuation of all the high-end potential we had seen from the team at the Midwest Power League.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Nebraska Elite 16 Ohana</strong> was also impressive en route to a 10-2 mark in the 16 Spirit division. 16 Ohana often worked in tandem with 16 Surge during the USAV qualifier season, but the teams were split into different waves for AAUs. That didn't stop 16 Ohana from replicating 16 Surge's success in Orlando.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We have three more 15U entries to follow from Nebraska Elite, too. <strong>Nebraska Elite 15 Mamba</strong> came within a set of reaching the final bracket in 15 Spirit. Meanwhile, <strong>Nebraska Elite 15 Heat</strong> and <strong>Nebraska Elite 15 Koa</strong> slugged their way to an 8-4 record in their respective divisions.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This was a foundational summer for Nebraska Elite.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline">Under-the-Radar Squads</span></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Admittedly, we didn't know what to expect from many of Nebraska's Wave 4 contenders at AAUs. This uncertainty led to several pleasant surprises.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Nebraska Juniors brought a pair of 15U teams to Wave 4 and showed flashes of brilliance against tough competition. <strong>Nebraska Juniors 15 Black</strong> exhibited its familiar balance of ball control and terminal ability in a stacked 15 Premier division. We'll have several standouts to discuss from this group. Likewise, Nebraska Juniors 15 Red added to the depth in this age group and advanced past the first round of pool play in 15 Select.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>How about the 15U duo from [program_tooltip program_id='428728' first='River' last='City Jrs']? <strong>[program_tooltip program_id='428728' first='River' last='City Jrs'] 15 Navy</strong> and <strong>15 Red</strong> both broke through to 8-3 overall performances in 15 Select and 15 Aspire, respectively. Like many of the other teams mentioned here, we learned a lot about the 15s at [program_tooltip program_id='428728' first='River' last='City Jrs'] through the Midwest Power League. However, AAU Nationals proved the club's competitiveness in front of a broad audience.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>And as long as we're talking about club-wide winning records, Club Legacy has to get a nod. <strong>Club Legacy 15 Bravo</strong> went 7-4 in 15 Aspire, and that's just the start. <strong>Club Legacy 15 Charlie</strong> and <strong>16 Charlie</strong> combined for 17 wins and added to the exceptional growth we've seen in the CLVA gym.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>If Wave 4 was a window into the future, we're in for an exciting few years of club coverage.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
