About Madelynn
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I’m a 5’7” Libero/DS playing for Tribe Volleyball Club. My love for the game was born the moment I stepped on the court with my 5th grade school volleyball team. Ever since, I have become a student of volleyball strategy, spent countless hours training in the gym and practicing my skills on the court. I truly love the game and value the life lessons I continue to learn along the way.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I'm competitive, disciplined, and always looking for growth. I take feedback seriously from as many people as I can, push myself and my teammates, and stay positive even when things get tough. I thrive in high-energy environments and bring a team-first mindset every time I step on the court.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
Yes, including multiple family-owned organizations. Some are the 56 Foundation, to bring smiles to children undergoing treatments in hospitals, and the Brett T Bailey Foundation, where we conduct events to raise money to support families of First Responders and the Military.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I’ve developed strong teamwork and communication skills, especially as a libero/DS where supporting teammates and staying composed under pressure is essential. I’ve also grown as a leader by leading through effort, positivity, and discipline while balancing academics, athletics, and team commitments.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
Yes, I’ve faced challenges balancing a demanding volleyball schedule with academics, especially during tournament weekends and recruiting periods. I’ve also had to push through pressure, setbacks, and tough competition, which taught me resilience, time management, and how to stay confident even when things don’t go perfectly.
What type of college are you looking for?
I’m looking for a college with a strong sense of community, a competitive volleyball program, and a large student body in an urban or near-city setting. Academically, I want a school with a solid business or entrepreneurship program where I can challenge myself while continuing to grow as a student-athlete.
