About Mikah

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a highly vocal libero and team captain who commands the backcourt. I call defensive plays and help to stabilize out of system offense. I also work to support our teams hitters by fine tuning my skills as a secondary setter.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

When I step on the court, my focus is locked on the game. I work to make the best calls possible, and if I shank a ball or miss a play, I don't let it consume me. I take a deep breath, reset mentally, and move on to the next play. If a teammate makes a mistake, I offer encouragement to help them reset. In a fast-paced game, there is no time to dwell on mistakes.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

High Honor Roll 2024 President's Education Award 2024 2nd Place Team Florida Math Counts 2024

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Leadership Skill and finding ways to come together as a team. I enjoy helping younger players learn the basic skills to help improve their game. I also volunteer to be a buddy for Challenger Baseball Team which my brother is apart.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

A significant challenge that I face is participating and competing in a sport with a large number of attendees while having a special-needs, immunocompromised sibling. I have to remain constantly aware when teammates are sick or when illness may be circulating, and balance my commitment to my team with the responsibility of protecting my families health.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college with a supportive coaching staff that can help develop my skills further, where the team feels like a family. I am also seeking a program that prioritizes academics just as highly as athletics.
