About Abby

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Hello! I believe I have a very high volleyball IQ and can find the holes on the court for quick dumps or deep corners that players aren't covering. I play my best when I have high competition that pushes me to my fullest potential. I treat my setters as my best friends and if they give me a great set, all the praise goes to them! I love slides and hitting from the outside too!

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have been working very hard on my mental game. I made it to state as a freshman and had to learn real quick that I need to let the past go and focus on the next play. I love playing on a team that cheers loud and supports each other. I am known as a person that likes to make people laugh and not take things too seriously. I am happiest when I am on the volleyball court!

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am in the jazz band and am a first chair trumpet player!

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I attended a 3-day catholic youth conference last summer at Steubenville, OH. It was an unforgettable weekend of faith, leadership, and fellowship and I look forward to going back this summer. I believe I am always developing my leadership and teamwork skills by embracing empathy, understanding, and positive reinforcement. Being a teenage girl these days in tough!

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Both of my grandparents that I was very close to passed away within two years of each other. That was extremely difficult for me, but I learned through the support of my parents and aunts that being sad is ok, but finding ways to honor them through being the best person I can be is what matters the most. I want to make them proud and I know they have the best seats in the house when I am playing!

What type of college are you looking for?

I am not sure. I am really open to anything!

Her quickness in transition is impressive, as she is consistently set, ready, and prepared to unload on the ball.
