About Hannah

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a competitive player that’s always wanting to swing. I thrive off of fast paced volleyball where both sides of the net is equally competitive and scrappy. As a middle I still love to hit the floor and keep the ball moving and I also live setting my pins when I get an opportunity!

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am an energetic and vocal player who gives my best effort every time I step on the court. I enjoy building strong relationships with my teammates both on and off the court, and I take pride in being a positive leader. Leading by example helps me stay composed under pressure while creating an environment where my teammates can succeed alongside me.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in Anchor club and National honors society.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I give at least 20 hours a semester to community service mainly at retirement homes learning about taking care of patients to prepare for my degree in exercise science. I am a captain on both my high school and club team where I show leadership on and off the court.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have had to overcome a lot of pain in my knees and ankles after hyperextending my left knee twice and spraining both of my ankles. All of these injuries happened in two years putting me out of the game. I started doing a lot of strength training which has built my strength back up and prevented injury’s.

Here’s another that should get some more press. A middle for Carolina that causes problems for teams. She’s got good size and is athletic enough to get left to right to help with the doubles on time. In the air she adjusts well and can shift her shot to find open court if facing a tough block. A good part of their offense runs through her and it makes sense, she’s about as solid of a middle as they come, and there aren’t a ton of those around.
