Williams From Lincoln Lutheran Reaches 1000 Career Digs

<p>Going into the Ashland-Greenwood Tournament on Thursday night, <strong>Erin Williams</strong> was just 18 digs away from reaching 1000 high school career digs. After getting 10 digs in the team’s opening pool play match against Plattsmouth, Erin managed to get 23 more in Lincoln Lutheran’s win against class B #5 Ralston.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Now that Williams has surpassed the 1000 dig mark, she will continue to do so going into the rest of her junior year and into her senior year next season. Williams now has 181 digs so far this season and owes a lot of her success to the teammates she has on the floor with her. Williams, as well as her Lincoln Lutheran teammates, are having quite the breakout season so far. The team now has a 15-1 record, with their only loss coming from Grand Island Central Catholic. The Warriors lost to GICC in a best of 3 set match, but they could have the chance to redeem themselves against GICC later on in the season.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Williams and her Lincoln Lutheran teammates are continuing to thrive in what could turn out to be a dream season come November. Everybody on this Lincoln Lutheran team is contributing to the team’s success with Williams. The Warrior’s setter <strong>Hope Leimbach</strong> has put up 404 assists so far this season. Their heavy hitter <strong>Marriah Buss</strong> has 261 kills so far on the year, and her counterpart <strong>Josie Puelz</strong> has put down 77 kills on the outside for the Warriors. The team’s middles <strong>Hayley Steinbauer</strong> and <strong>Kayla Ernstmeyer</strong> have combined for 91 kills together. Lutheran's other defensive specialists  <strong>Lexie Kreizel</strong>, <strong>Megan Garbe </strong>and <strong>Rachel Ziems</strong>  have all combined for the remainder of the team's digs behind Williams. <strong>Rebecca Ziems</strong> and <strong>Paige Ravenscroft</strong> have combined for a remainder of the team's kills on the right side. </p> <p><a href="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/IMG_3996.JPG.jpeg"></a></p> <p>Erin Williams and the rest of her Lincoln Lutheran teammates have their hopes set out for a district title and a berth in the class C1 state volleyball tournament. Their first loss to Grand Island Central Catholic was a great test for them to see how the rest of their season could play out. Winning the class C1 state title won’t come easy for the Warriors, but they’re ready for redemption and to prove they’re a contender for that state championship in November.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
