About Tianna

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Every game, I make sure to enter the court being a fast and aggressive force. Offensively, I will read the other side of the court and apply my knowledge of attacking tools I can use to attack their weak spots. As defense is one of the most important parts of the game, I make sure to stay calm but also be quick on my feet, ready for any ball to come at me.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My main principle is always carrying a good energy. As volleyball is a game of mistakes, things can get tough and cause many to lose their positivity, but me, I always strive to problem-solve. Walking in the court I maintain focused, stay good spirited, and have complete faith in my teammates. I am also competitive, but again, I compete with a mindset of learning.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

The biggest thing that I've grasped from volleyball is the ability to make sure everyone feels like they belong. On and off the court I've developed the compassion and confidence to make sure everyone has a voice whether in team huddles or working in group projects. I believe leadership is not only guiding everyone else but also uplifting everyone to be a leader.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Throughout my career of volleyball I've faced the challenges of feeling like I can't speak out or speak for myself. As I've progressively been playing, I've met so many coaches and teammates that make me feel comfortable in the sport and I've finally developed the courage to exude my confidence physically playing and also mentally.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that I can exceed in my future goals such as excelling and taking the next step in learning about Psychology, as well as my long term goal of learning entrepreneurship and speaking skills to create my own business.
