About Layla

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am considered small but fierce. I am very competitive and love to lead my team. I am best at serve receive and love to give my setter the best chance a good play

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I always locked it. I am very serious on the court but love to laugh. I tend to be on the quieter side until you get to know me. I love to learn and am always willing to listen to my coaches.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Two year in NJHS at my middle school 2025 AISD African American Heritage Award Receiptant 2025 7th grade athlete of the year for participating in sports and maintaining a high GPA

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I volunteer many hours throughout the year from my National Junior Honor Society I help out with community service with in my club, participating in food drives and tournaments for a purpose.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

since I am short, I am often overlooked but I like to work on the court and show what I can do in spite of my size

What type of college are you looking for?

I would like to go to a D1 COLLEGE

Adkins was with the AP 14 Adidas team that had a strong display over the weekend, finishing second in the 15 Open division with four wins and two losses. Her quickness in the back row was a huge asset for her, as it helped her get to the ball in serve-receive, while also putting her in great spots to play defense. Adkins also showed excellent ball control, generating many transition plays for her team with her solid defense. The libero was very disciplined when covering her hitters and helped recover the ball on many occasions.
