<p>The 2020 march to being the best continued for <strong>Legacy 15-1 Adidas </strong>this past weekend at the Sunshine Volleyball Classic in Orlando, as the unbeaten squad added another championship to its trophy collection.</p>
<p>Along with the play of 15-1 Adidas, other Legacy programs also had some standout performances down south.</p>
<h3><strong>15-1 Adidas runs the table again</strong></h3>
<p>The young squad moved to 4-for-4 on championships in 2020 by going 10-0 this past weekend and dropping just two sets along the way. The nation’s top-ranked 15’s squad looked especially strong in the championship, earning a 25-19, 25-21 win over <strong>South Coast Volleyball</strong>.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="66319" first="Harper" last="Murray"] </strong>posted another impressive weekend, racking up a team-high 78 kills as a dominant outside. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="66292" first="Rebecca" last="Apsey"] </strong>continues to be a perfect compliment on the right side. She finished the event with 64 kills and 10 blocks. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="66309" first="Nina" last="Horning"]</strong>, another outside option for Legacy, posted 47 kills while middle <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="66291" first="Laurece" last="Abraham"] </strong>had 29 kills with 14 blocks. Middle <strong>Abby Reck </strong>chipped in with 32 kills and six blocks. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="66313" first="Erin" last="Kline"] </strong>was on point at setter, running the offense while picking up 10 aces and 12 blocks.</p>
<p>In the back <strong>Kaitlyn Hoffman</strong>, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="66295" first="Allison" last="Berent"] </strong>and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="66340" first="Sarah" last="Vellucci"] </strong>controlled the defense, as Legacy passed a 2.3 for the entire tournament.</p>
<p>15-1 Adidas will be back in action on March 20-22 for the MidEast National Qualifier in Indianapolis.</p>
<h3><strong>16-1 Adidas wins Open Silver Bracket</strong></h3>
<p>Legacy 16-1 Adidas was in the mix this past weekend as well, going 6-2 for the weekend to place ninth and win the Silver Bracket of the Open Division. Their lone two losses were to <strong>H Skyline 16 Black </strong>and <strong>MadFrog 16’S N Green</strong>. 16-1 Adidas closed out the weekend with a 25-19, 24-26, 15-10 win over Club Unite 16 Eric.</p>
<p>Leading the team this past weekend with outside <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="24881" first="Sydney" last="Tomlak"]</strong>, who continues to make big strides as a six-rotation option. She takes on a lot of passing on defense while also is the go-to hitting option at the net. In the middle, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="24843" first="Cari" last="Bohm"] </strong>is also making big strides. The 6’4” Class of 2022 option led the squad this weekend in blocks and hitting percentage.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="24847" first="Audrey" last="Brown"] </strong>also looked strong on the outside while finishing at a high percentage, while <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="24842" first="Josie" last="Bloom"] </strong>anchored the back row at libero and continued to play at a high level.</p>
<h3><strong>18-1 Adidas wins Open Bronze Bracket</strong></h3>
<p>Legacy 18-1 Adidas also put up a top-10 finish this past weekend, placing ninth in the Open by winning the bronze bracket in Orlando. Legacy went 7-1 for the weekend, suffering only a 26-24, 25-19 loss to <strong>OVA 18 Black</strong>. The team wasn’t quite at full strength, as RS <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="14112" first="Lauren" last="King"] </strong>(VCU) was out due to a concussion and libero <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="49385" first="Kennedy" last="Dolmage"] </strong>(Oakland) was fighting off an illness. Still the team came away with a 25-23, 25-20 win over <strong>OT 18 T Dexter </strong>in the bronze bracket final.</p>
<p>Outside <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="14097" first="Kendall" last="Murray"] </strong>(Michigan) had a big weekend, leading the team in kills while being one of the tops in passing efficiency alongside DS <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="49384" first="Paige" last="Gallentine"]</strong> (Tennessee-Chattanooga). Middle <strong>Ellie Ruprich </strong>(South Carolina) hit .447 for the weekend and led the team in blocks while setter <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="14092" first="Alexa" last="Rousseau"] </strong>(Northwestern) ran the offense and led the team in assists.</p>
