Continue ReadingEvery year dozens of talented Iowa High School volleyball players move on to play college volleyball at every different division. These players choose their schools for various reasons, including distance from home, size of school, and the talent level of the program. One conference that is widely considered one of the best in their division is the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC). Eight different schools from the ICCAC have been ranked in the top 20 in NJCAA D1 and D2 the past two seasons, and the players that choose these programs experience the opportunity of fighting for a National Championship against players from across the globe.
Players choose to stay home and play the first two years of their college career in the ICCAC for many reasons, including wanting specific 2 year degrees like dental hygiene, radiology, and nursing, as well as looking for a more personal college experience at a smaller school, or wanting a more affordable option while playing college athletics. Here are some of the best players from the class of 2020 who will be playing in the ICCAC this fall:

Angel Baylark – Burlington High School
5’11 MB
Committed to: Iowa Central
A high flying multi-sport athlete, All-District Baylark led Burlington with 285 kills and 67 blocks. She will be on both the volleyball and track teams at Iowa Central.
Anna Niehaus – Kuemper Catholic High School
5’8 OH
Committed to: DMACC
The 3rd Team All-State Niehaus helped Kuemper to the state finals. She had 302 kills, 56 aces, 164 digs, and 31 blocks for the Knights.

Main led her North Iowa team with 611 assists, 189 digs, and 34 aces.
