Sauk Rapids-Rice Invitational Standouts Part 1: Middle Blockers

The championship game was a close battle between the Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm and the Monticello Magic. Defensively she is always ready to make a play. She agility and speed allow her to get up to block early and get as many touches as possible. When swinging, Rogholt get to the ball quickly making it hard of the other team to prepare for her fast swing. Offensively, she is quick and perceptive with swinging. Peterson has the ability to catch opposing offenses of guard. No matter what she is always up and ready to swing. As a blocker, she is fast and communicates well with her teammates to ensure success. Peterson is a strong server that can easily put the opposing team out of system. She has a fast approach, fast swing, and the ability to place the ball effectively. Ruda gets up early on the block getting multiple touches or forcing the hitter to tip around to her teammates. She is quick to move defensively and puts up a tough block making it hard for the opposing team to make a play. Ruda has a fast approach and a high swing allowing her to make skillful plays. She is able to read the opposing defense well to get to where she needs to be. When on offense, she has a fast approach and hard swing. She is able to find ways to get the ball down no matter the play. Although her main position is a middle blocker, she is able to swing from the outside and right side effectively. She has a strong line shot on the outside that catches the defense off guard. In the middle, she is able to read the defense and swing around them, putting the ball down with her fast swing. She is quick when approaching and is always ready to swing. If she does not receive the ball, she is always ready to cover other hitters and make the next play.
