About Aleese

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m the player who’s always hustling, always loud, and always in the middle of the action. I’m scrappy, hype, and diving for anything even close to the floor. I bring the energy every single play and I love being the spark that keeps my team fired up and fighting for every point.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality on the court is that no ball is unplayable and every point deserves full effort. I’m going after everything, no matter how far or how tough it looks. I play with the mindset that hustle changes games and I’m giving all I’ve got on every single play.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in FCA, GCVC Volleyball Club, my church's youth group, 4-H, softball, and Student Council. I am class president also. I received the mental attitude award for my high school volleyball team for the 2025 season. I was awarded the Don E. Howell award at my school for the most outstanding student in character and academics in jr high.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Volleyball has taught me so much more than just how to play the game. I’ve learned the power of teamwork, how real hard work always pays off, and how to step up as a leader when my team needs it. It’s also shown me how important genuine connections are, on and off the court. All of these skills have shaped who I am as a player and a person.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

A significant challenge I have faced was tearing my meniscus. I tore it at the end of August this year, just as I had earned a varsity spot. I had surgery and after 3 weeks of PT, I was cleared to practice, and a week later got to play in my first game back. It has taught me a lot in both the physical and mental aspects of volleyball, and I have a new appreciation for the sport.

What type of college are you looking for?

My ideal college is a place that supports me in both my education and my athletics, somewhere that pushes me to grow in the classroom and on the court. I want a strong, positive community, coaches who believe in me, and teammates who feel like family.
