Carleigh Rymer Carleigh Rymer 5'4" | DS/L/S Pacelli Catholic Schools | 2028 MN has shown she can sit in against pace and handle some tough swings. She stays strong through her platform and doesn’t shy away when an attacker gets a clean look at the ball. One play I like from Rymer is when she absorbs a hard-driven swing instead of letting the contact take over, keeping the dig on her side and giving her team another chance to run something. There are defenders who make plays, and then there are defenders who seem to change the energy of a court. Carleigh Rymer did that several times throughout the weekend. She chased down balls that looked out of reach, extended rallies that appeared finished, and brought an edge to every point she played. The play itself was impressive, but it was often the reaction afterward that stood out. Teammates fed off her effort, and you could feel momentum shift when she came up with a big defensive stop.
