Day One Dominators: Seniors Leading the Charge at DFC

The Class of 2026 kicked off the Durango Fall Classic on September 19-20, 2025, with grit and determination against some of the nation's toughest competition. Facing nationally ranked top-five teams, this senior group—anchored by multiple D1 commits—showed why they've been cornerstones of their programs. While the results were mixed, their effort, leadership, and fight on every point stood out, making Day One a clear reminder that this senior class leaves a lasting mark on the tournament and on Nevada volleyball.    Beckham, who averages 4.1 kills per set and leads Coronado with 258 kills this season, showed flashes of her heavy-hitting ability against Sierra Canyon, posting 7 kills and 3 aces against one of the nation's top defenses. Though St. Francis managed to hold her to just 4 kills, her season-long consistency as a go-to scorer keeps her central to the Cougars' offense. Committed: University of North Las Vegas (UNLV)   --Kantessa Bryant-Miller @prepdignv     Purser, one of the most efficient hitters in Nevada at .357, brought her usual presence at the net. She posted 7 kills and 2 aces against Poly Prep, followed by a team-high 6 kills versus St. Francis. With 189 kills, 22 aces, and a team-leading 32 blocks this season, her fearless play at the middle remains a steady force for Coronado even against elite competition. She led the offense against Poly Prep with 8 kills, added 5 more versus St. Francis, and anchored the defense with 9 digs in that same match. With 180 kills, 205 digs, and 23 aces on the year, Oblad continues to be one of Nevada's top six-rotation players, capable of delivering on both sides of the ball. In the match vs. Bishop Alemany she posted 27 assists, then 29 in the Corona del Sol match, and 24 in the Kamahalalea win. Those numbers show not just volume, but consistency and stamina. During the tournament, she made her presence felt with a pair of blocks against Marin Catholic and added 7 digs in both that match and the Etiwanda contest. Her combination of blocking, serving, and digging shows that she's an effective all-around player who can influence play on both sides of the net. She followed that with 7 assists and 8 digs versus St. Ignatius College Preparatory, while adding 4 against #3 nationally ranked Marymount. Over the season, Morales Imura has led the team with 294 assists and has added 39 service aces, averaging 0.4 per set. Her defensive presence is equally strong, with 195 digs, highlighting her value as both a setter and a key contributor in the back row.
