About Ava

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am steady, confident and agressive. I hope that when I step on the court my team feels confident knowing that I will show up each play. When we mess up, shake it off, adjust and keep going.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a quiet leader but you'll see my fire come out during the game. I encourage my team mates but also expect them to be locked in and hungry!

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I run sound and video for chapel at my school. This is a weekly commitment that takes about 2.5 hours of my school day.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My older sister went through a very low time that changed our entire family. It taught me so much. We had to walk through a lot. It also lit a deeper fire in me to make good choices, care about my grades, honor my parents, respect my teachers and use my gifts for good. Volleyball is that outlet for me. It has helped build my confidence and allows me to be part of something bigger than me.

What type of college are you looking for?

Dream school is Baylor. I don't think I want to live in a busy city. I would love a smaller school but with great volleyball and the opportunity to play.
