With the NFL Draft coming up, we are having some fun - Prep Dig style. Our fearless leader, Chris Fitzgerald, has set the rules. Here they are:

-Cannot have more than two players from the same club team

-Cannot have more than two players from the same high school

-Cannot have more than two players who are committed to Division 1 schools

-Must have someone from all four divisions of high school

See Team Fitzgerald Here

I tried to put a group together that I would love to see take on Chris's draft team next week, but I also put it together in a short amount of time. I actually set an additional rule for my team; not to take more than 2 players from the same club. In the end, I really enjoyed the challenge!

From the Wisconsin Class of 2021

[player_tooltip player_id="56477" first="Elizabeth" last="Danelski"] – 5'10 – Middle Blocker - Oconomowoc (D1) – VC United 171 Elite

Danelski is quick, can elevate, and she is athletic. She is with a solid VC United squad this year and played on a tough Oconomowoc squad in the fall. Danelski continues to find great opportunities to train and is better every time I see her play. She will be a great steal at the next level, and I'm excited to see where she lands!

[caption id="attachment_86204" align="alignright" width="300"] Josie Halbeib[/caption]

Josie Halbeib – 6'1 – Setter/Right Side Hitter – Sun Prairie (D1) – FC Elite 18 Elite

Halbeib is on the rise, and this past year her development has been fun to watch. I love how she has been able to show off her all-around game skills, and you can see her volleyball IQ increasing. Halbeib is the top available setting prospect, but she is a real threat as a lefty with a high contact point and fast swing on the right side. She is quiet, calm, and graceful, making a solid leader anyone would love to have running their offense. Halbeib is resourceful and able to contribute both offensively and defensively.

[player_tooltip player_id="56451" first="Kady" last="Stigler"] – 5'7 – Libero – Menomonee Falls (D1) – Wisconsin Premier 17 Lisa

Stigler is one of the most underrated defensive players in Wisconsin. She is a true leader on the court, bringing determination and a very physical style of play. The theme of this group is raw athleticism, and it is packed with players that can make a solid first contact. This ability would lead to a fast tempo offense beating most blockers out there.

[player_tooltip player_id="80715" first="Kaitlyn" last="Riley"] – 6'0 – Middle Blocker – Catholic Memorial (D2) – Milwaukee Sting 17 Gold - Committed to Baylor (NCAA D1)

I swear Riley jumps higher every time I see her play. When I first saw her play in 2018, the most notable thing about her was her lateral speed and blocking. Now Riley is a player who can also score running several routes at different tempos using a number of shots. I love the spark she brings to the court, and I'd love to watch her hitting off Halbeib. Even better would be a Riley and Halbeib block.

[player_tooltip player_id="80738" first="Lily" last="Behrendt"] – 5'6 – Setter – Whitefish Bay (D1) – Wisconsin Premier 17 Lisa

I think Behrendt would make a solid counterpart opposite Halbeib, giving her an opportunity to swing. She has developed into a solid setter, but even better, a strong defender. I would love to see Behrendt playing with this caliber of athletes and see her really thrive.

[player_tooltip player_id="56429" first="Lizzie" last="Binder"] – 6'2 – Outside Hitter – Sheboygan North (D1) – FC Elite 18 Elite

Binder has been thriving, and her stock has been rising over the past year as she continues to be an absolute force at the pins. She has a heavy swing that just about puts the ball through the floor. Binder is lethal, tenacious, and I'd love to see her matched up with any pin hitter out there.

[caption id="attachment_88435" align="alignright" width="300"] [player_tooltip player_id="80729" first="Molly" last="Lawlis"][/caption]

[player_tooltip player_id="80729" first="Molly" last="Lawlis"] – 5'10 – Middle Blocker - Pacelli (D4) – Wisconsin Ice 18 National

Lawlis really exploded this past fall, earning the Player of the Year in her conference followed by making the top team for Wisconsin Ice. She is quick laterally and can close the block. Lawlis drives hard in transition, runs a number of routes effectively, and can be a real surprise to the opposing team.

[player_tooltip player_id="80733" first="Robyn" last="Kirsch"] – 5'7 – Outside Hitter – Wausau West (D1) – Wisconsin Ice 17 Purple

I love the spark Kirsch ignites when she takes the floor. She is adaptable in the air and her vertical gives her the hangtime to see the block and use it. There is just something that Kirsch brings to her team that helps her teammates operate on another level. I would love to see how this team would feed off her energy.

[caption id="attachment_28042" align="alignright" width="300"] Sam Naber[/caption]

[player_tooltip player_id="33724" first="Samantha" last="Naber"] – 5'7 – Libero - Burlington (D1) – Committed To Marquette (NCAA D1)

I used one of my D1 College commits on Naber simply because when she flips the switch, you are not getting anything past her. She is so strong on every first contact. From serve-receive to taking pace off a hard hit ball, Naber knows how to compete at a high level and has been doing it for a while, since she has had 3 trips to the Resch. She has shown the state time and time again she knows how to win, and I can't wait to see her up against competition in the Big East.

[caption id="attachment_88438" align="alignright" width="300"] [player_tooltip player_id="80726" first="Sammie" last="Seib"][/caption]

[player_tooltip player_id="80726" first="Sammie" last="Seib"] – 5'7 – Outside Hitter – Catholic Central (D4) – [program_tooltip program_id='431479' first='Wisconsin' last='Juniors'] 17-1's

Seib is the ultimate utility player with the ability to be a rotation outside. She is so good at finding open court and can do more than defend in the backcourt. She is a threat from the end line with a wicked float and has made a great showing at the Resch, leading her team to the Championship match as well as a gold ball in 2018. I can't wait to see where she lands in the college volleyball world.
