La Cañada Captures CIF-SS Division 4 Championship

In front of a packed Ventura gym filled with Cougar fans, band music, and high energy from both sides, La Cañada Volleyball claimed the CIF-SS Ford Girls Volleyball Division 4 Championship with poise and precision. She demonstrated a sharp understanding of when to attack and when to tip, showing maturity in her shot selection and composure under pressure. She brought energy from the service line with steady runs that shifted momentum and strengthened team confidence. Her volleyball IQ continues to rise as she reads the court and makes quick, confident decisions. Touching 10'1", Lewis competes with intent and drive, now preparing for a State Title run and club season with Actyve 17 Navy.   ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247     [player_tooltip player_id='849569' first='Matilda' last='Kemp'] ran the offense with calm control and consistent tempo. Her hands are clean and her set location remains steady across multiple tempos. She keeps defenses guessing by mixing up her sets while keeping connection with her primary hitters. She covers deep corners, reacts well to deflections, and transitions quickly into playable passes. Her serve is reliable and tactically placed. She moved efficiently from serve receive into transition and showed a quick wrist snap that generated clean, purposeful swings. Her defensive reads were strong, and she consistently stayed engaged on every play. She read opposing hitters early, closing blocks with precision and converting quick one-ball connections into efficient points. Her volleyball IQ stood out as she recognized defensive gaps and repeatedly scored with a well-placed dump into area four. When Ventura adjusted, Tatoulian responded with decisive, powerful swings that shifted momentum. Her communication and energy lifted the entire La Cañada lineup, setting the tone for composure and control at the net.   ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247     [player_tooltip player_id='803692' first='Isabela' last='Tafoya'] was a defensive anchor who read hitters early and kept plays alive with controlled, low digs. She communicated well and organized her teammates in serve receive. Her platform work was clean, and she stayed balanced through long rallies. She came up with key one-arm digs and adapted well to tipping strategies from La Cañada's hitters. Her defensive range and court awareness were clear. Martinez's hustle and anticipation helped Ventura extend rallies. Her ability to hang and adjust mid-air gave her clean looks that avoided the block. She connected well with her setter on quicks and was active in transition. Her awareness of angles and space allowed her to find ways to score against the block. She stayed active in transition and disciplined in coverage. Bolton's decision-making and versatility added depth to Ventura's lineup.    Alex Marchetti (2029) Marchetti, a freshman on varsity, showed composure and confidence under pressure. Her arm swing is explosive, with the ability to tool the block and attack the deep seam. She contributes on defense with quick reads and solid positioning. Marchetti's all-around skill set and willingness to compete make her a promising young talent.   Kinsley Gullatt (2027) Gullatt attacked with a heavy, fast arm that produced deep-corner kills and consistent points on the outside. She adjusted well to off-tempo balls and kept rallies alive with smart, controlled swings. Her athleticism and decision-making allowed her to create offense out of tough situations. Gullatt continues to develop into a dependable pin attacker.   Emma Gould (2026) Gould ran the Cougar offense with poise and confidence. She delivered accurate tempo sets and maintained a consistent rhythm for her hitters. Her communication and ability to reset the team under pressure stood out.
