About Ayse

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I enjoy fast-paced rallies with sudden, unexpected twists added to them because of the players' high skill level. I love running quick plays where there are so many options that our coach cannot even predict who will get set. My favorite part might be the moment when I jump and realize, seconds before, that I am going to get a great block.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have focused my concentration on three major clubs that I found interest in: Empower Education, Speech and Debate, and FBLA. Although I am at the start of my high school career, I found success in middle school where I was a decorated modified parliamentary debater, captain of three sports teams, and an active NJHS and ASB member. I will work to have such accomplishments in high school as well.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Throughout my life I have moved around a lot. I am currently 14 and have lived in three different continents, multiple cities and houses. I would find that the environment that I had to start all over again. I first started playing volleyball with my friends in sand courts and I held on to it ever since, not only as something I find comfort but to remind me of who I am.

What type of college are you looking for?

Although it would be amazing to play for a D1 school, I am not necessarily looking for a college that plays an extremely high level but one where I could thrive both academically and in volleyball. I value education as much as I love volleyball and I would like to be able to prioritize both throughout my college years.
