The 2025 MHSAA postseason is already down to the final week of play.

Eight teams remain in each division, and in Division 2 has seen some of the big names eliminated in the last two weeks.

Here's a closer look at Tuesday's D2 quarterfinal pairings.

Q5: Ogemaw Heights vs. Fremont at Ferris State

Ogemaw Heights put away last year's semifinalist, Garber, in five sets to reach this quarterfinal, while Fremont also went five sets to dispose of Fruitport. The Falcons show a lot of balance offensively, which will keep Fremont guessing. Kenna Wren spreads the ball out well and has strong hitters in [player_tooltip player_id='829810' first='Aubrey' last='Evans'], [player_tooltip player_id='834072' first='Kendel' last='Morris'], and Teagan Agren. Fremont's Taylor DeKuiper is coming off a six-block performance in the regional final and will look to slow down that Ogemaw Heights offense, while defender [player_tooltip player_id='801830' first='Grace' last='Evans'] has put in a lot of work to keep the ball off the floor. [player_tooltip player_id='842717' first='Hallie' last='Snyder'] and Ava Geers are also strong contributors in both phases of the game.

Prediction: Ogemaw Heights over Fremont in 5

Q6: No. 3 Grand Rapids Christian vs. No. 6 Tecumseh at Gull Lake

GRC came through with a big 4-set win over GRCC in the regional final, while Tecumseh swept a solid Parma Western club. Tecumseh reached Battle Creek last year while the Eagles are no stranger to finals weekend, so this should be a great matchup. The Eagles have a big 1-2 punch on offense in [player_tooltip player_id='442982' first='Grace' last='Goodyke'] and [player_tooltip player_id='881552' first='Mya' last='McKinnon'] that will be difficult for any team to keep in check. [player_tooltip player_id='828524' first='Emma' last='Eldred'] has been a force for Tecumseh these last two years and having an MVP-type postseason if she can continue to lead them to wins. Six-foot middle Addi Zajac is also going to make her presence known, slowing down the GRC attack to help out the defense.

Prediction: GR Christian over Tecumseh in 4

Q7: No. 10 Flat Rock vs. Ferndale at Saline

It's been a big year for Flat Rock that can become even bigger with a spot in the semifinals. The Rams have taken a huge step forward behind the play of setter [player_tooltip player_id='443001' first='Zoe' last='Ryan'], who has some great hitters like [player_tooltip player_id='839917' first='Sarah' last='Giroux'], Reagan Higdon, and Lily Klein to work with. Ferndale has a chance to be a big spoiler here. The Eagles avenged a previous loss to Chandler Park Academy in the regional final, winning in five sets. Ferndale has been able to take advantage of the matchups they are up against and have gained confidence with each step. They will be the underdog on paper, but won't make it easy for Flat Rock to advance.

Prediction: Flat Rock over Ferndale in 3

Q8: No. 1 Detroit Country Day vs. Lake Fenton at Mt. Morris

The Yellowjackets took a big step toward a repeat championship when it bested No. 2 North Branch in the regional final after being down two sets. Now its draws a Lake Fenton team that is looking to play spoiler, and capable of doing so. Senior hitter [player_tooltip player_id='226895' first='Jillian' last='Ferrill'] is a real problem for defenses, as she's got a great mix of length, power, and court IQ. [player_tooltip player_id='831527' first='Eleni' last='Kosmanopoulos'] has been a great asset on the attack as well. [player_tooltip player_id='226913' first='Abbigayl' last='Sells'] has been a dig machine and will make Country Day have to earn each point. DCD saw senior [player_tooltip player_id='446702' first='Elise' last='Hiemstra'] take control in the regional final and would love to see her continue to ride that momentum. Setter [player_tooltip player_id='574175' first='Payton' last='Woodruff'] is as good as they come and she's done a nice job of developing middles [player_tooltip player_id='450415' first='Leah' last='Green'] and [player_tooltip player_id='898111' first='Aliyah' last='Potapenko'] this season.

Prediction: Country Day over Lake Fenton in 4
