Here are five versatile 11th Region hitters to watch.
Avery Alexander: A sophomore outside hitter/right side, Alexander is a student-athlete from Lexington Catholic High School. Alexander registered 243 kills, 16 blocks, 293 digs and 40 service aces in 32 matches during the 2019 high school volleyball season. One of the top players due back for Lexington Catholic in the 2020 high school volleyball season, Alexander hits well from each side and is productive playing in both the front and back rows.
Julia Bingham Julia Bingham OH Madison Southern | 2023 State KY : A freshman outside hitter/middle blocker, Bingham is a student-athlete from Madison Southern High School. Contributing for Madison Southern early in her varsity high school volleyball career, Bingham posted 70 kills, 52 blocks and 41 digs as a freshman in 2019. Bingham, who is preparing to take the floor in her sophomore season, ha shown she can block regularly at the net and digs efficiently.
Isabella Johnson: A sophomore middle hitter/outside hitter, Johnson is a student-athlete from Frankfort High School. Johnson helped to lead Frankfort as a sophomore and is expected to produce more during her junior season. Johnson shows good agility and athleticism when moving along the net. An underrated middle hitter/outside hitter, Johnson reads opposing defenses well.
Jade Loftus: A junior outside hitter/right side, Loftus is a student-athlete from Bryan Station High School. Loftus helped to lead Bryan Station throughout the 2019 high school volleyball season, delivering at the net. Bryan Station compiled a 25-12 overall record thanks in part to Loftus thriving offensively. A consistent hitter from either side of the net, Loftus is communicative and passes well. Loftus digs for quick attacks regularly and has produced when acting as a backup setter on offense.
Tucker Patterson: A sophomore outside hitter/opposite, Patterson is a student-athlete from Lexington Christian Academy. Patterson was among the go-to hitters for Lexington Christian during the 2019 high school volleyball season, recording nearly 100 kills in 29 matches. In addition to registering kills, Patterson possesses solid passing and blocking skills needed at multiple positions.
